Watch the Volume

The most suitable stocks for day trading are high volume stocks. By definition, day-traders liquidate any open positions at the close; they don’t have the luxury of waiting to see if tomorrow brings the expected price move. Day traders must watch the market continuously during the day at their computer terminals.

Trading only the markets and contract months with the highest open interest is vital. In contrast with other financial markets where you require the full deposit of the amount traded, in the Forex market you require only a margin deposit.

Day trading comes with a strong wealth-warning. Day traders are sometimes portrayed as “bandits” or “gamblers” which is thought to discourage others from joining in on the activity. You won’t succeed at day trading unless you have a high measure of confidence in yourself.

Daytrading can be fruitful or disasterous. If you want to day trade for a living, not only must you make good money, but you must avoid losing money. If you have limited time to trade, you should consider swing trading instead of day trading.

With the unlimited potential to earn of daytrading, comes the possibility of great financial loss. Decide each day how much you are willing to risk in your day trading endeavours and stick to it. Although day trading has become somewhat of a controversial phenomenon, its prevalence is undeniable.
